06 Apr The Love of God and Jesus
This is the first in a series of articles about the amazing love that God and Jesus bring into our lives.
When Jesus lived here on earth, God loved Him, and Jesus loved God. We can see in
the Scriptures that God also profoundly loves us! God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to sacrifice for us and save us. God’s love for us is amazing and gracious, and it will bless our lives more than anything else. Brothers and sisters, let us believe this wonderful truth and joyfully accept it, knowing that God’s love is more awesome than anything else we can ever receive.
God’s love for His Son inspired Jesus to live a sinless life, and it inspired Jesus’ amazing sacrifice on the Cross, where He bore our sins.
Jesus said that He loves us the way God loves Him:
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you.” (John 15:9)
Jesus goes on to say that as we accept His love and obey His commands, we will experience amazing joy:
“Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.“ (John 15:9-11)
Brothers and sisters, the more we believe and accept the amazing love of God and Jesus, the more joy we will have! Their love is the greatest love we can ever experience. Let us often remind ourselves how much they love us, and let us receive that love with gratitude. As we do so, we will come to experience the greatest joy and peace that we could possibly have in our lives!
