While Jonathan became a follower of Christ in his early teens, he is the only one on our Warrior Website team who didn’t become a preacher. He continues to learn anew how to follow Christ wholeheartedly with each adventure, trial and blessing that life brings his way…and to help others do the same!
Jonathan graduated with Highest Honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in International Affairs and Spanish. During his college years, Jonathan partnered with his campus minister (who happened to be his brother-in-law Kevin Thompson) and several faithful students to build a thriving campus ministry that sought to model brotherly love, Christ-likeness, and academic excellence. A few years later, Jonathan earned an International MBA degree from the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business, a two-year program that sent him to Guadalajara, Mexico for seven months for language immersion and professional internship. While at USC, he served his local campus ministry (for which the minister happened to be his brother David!), mentoring underclassmen and leading Bible discussions at the dormitories and Business School.
Since graduation Jonathan has kept busy, first moving to Pennsylvania where he began his career at a leading medical devices company, providing consultation for surgeons and healthcare professionals in the operating room. As a working bachelor, Jonathan served his local congregation’s Young professional, Campus and Middle School ministries. During that time, he began dating Talia, the beautiful Chicago girl that became his bride in 2009.
Since that time, Jonathan has travelled extensively throughout the US, Latin America and the Caribbean in various business and product development roles with Fortune 500 global technology companies.
Having lived in five states in six years, Jonathan and Talia were warmly received by various local congregations, where they served in small groups and ministries focused on middle and high schoolers, campus students, young professionals, and young married couples. With the help of some dear friends, Jonathan and Talia even started a downtown ministry in Miami, Florida that grew to 25 members.
Jonathan and Talia now reside in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. When not spending time with his wife and his two wonderful young daughters, Jonathan enjoys roaming the forest behind his home with his young—but very large—Old English sheepdog Willoughby.
